Step-by-Step Registration Process

Registration is structured and generally takes from a few hours to a week:

Start Registration: Visit

Amazon Seller Central Registration and click 'Sign Up'.

Providing Your Business Details

The next stage is sharing information about your business. You’ll need your Goods and Services Tax (GST) number if your products aren’t in a tax-exempt category (like books or bangles). If you are selling tax-exempt items, simply select the option for non-GST categories—no GST number is required. For others, carefully enter your GST information and upload your GSTIN certificate. Verification takes a short while, but you can keep moving through the process as documents are reviewed.

Creating Your Store’s Identity

Bring your business to life by choosing a store name. You can use your existing business name or select a fresh one. The system offers auto-generated name ideas if you need inspiration. Your business name is what shoppers see first, so feel free to customize or change it anytime from your Seller Central settings.

Setting the Pickup Address

Decide where Amazon or your chosen pickup provider will collect products for customer delivery. You can select the address linked to your GST information, or add a different location; just be sure it’s in the same state as your GST registration. Changing your pickup address is easy later on if you need to.

Choosing How You Deliver Products

Amazon gives you control with two delivery options:

  • Easy Ship: Amazon handles pickup, packing, and delivery for a fee. You focus on storing and preparing orders; Amazon does the rest.

  • Self Ship: You or your trusted courier partners handle all storage, packing, and shipping.

If you pick Easy Ship, you get choices on delivery charges: absorb the cost, charge separately, or offer free delivery.

Sharing Your Bank Details

Add your active business bank account information. Check for accuracy, since this will be used for all payments from Amazon sales (after any fees).

Listing Your Products

Here’s a simplified process for adding products in Amazon Seller Central:

  • Go to your Seller Central dashboard and find “Inventory” or “Catalogue.”

  • Click “Add Products.”

  • Search for your product using its name, UPC, EAN, or ASIN if it already exists on Amazon. If it’s new, select “Create a new product listing.”

  • Fill in all required details: product name, brand, product ID (like UPC or EAN), description, bullet points, keywords, price, quantity, and shipping method.

  • Upload high-quality images of your product.

  • Double-check your information and submit to make your product live for customers to see and buy.

Launching Your Store

Once your first product is uploaded, you’re officially an Amazon seller. Hit ‘Start Selling’, and your shop is open to millions of potential buyers. Your dashboard lets you manage orders, track inventory, and use Amazon’s specialized programs and tools to help your business grow.
